Schedule of Events
- Friday, April 18, 12-9 p.m.
- 1. Shenandoah Family-Native American Clothing - This family group is from New York state and will have selections of Native American clothing and other elements of American Indian cultures for display, information and purchase. (All afternoon.)
- 2. Shenandoah Dance Group - Members of the New York state family will do Iroquois social dances from 8-9 p.m. Visitors will be asked to become a part of the proceedings.
- 3. Paul Nevin, 7-8 p.m. - Archeological historian will do a presentation on Susqehannock and other cultures of the Susquehanna River region.
- 4. White Panther of West Virginia will have an extensive collection of Eastern Woodland artifacts for examination. (All afternoon.)
- 5. Soaring Hawk - Grandfather Daryle of Willow Street, Lancaster will do story telling of Native American lore. 6-7 p.m.
Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
- 1. White Panther - display, teaching, demonstration of Native American artifacts and lifestyle. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- 2. Shenandoah Family - Native American clothing for display, purchase and information. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- 3. Churchville Nature Center of Pennsylvania will display Eastern Woodland arts such as fire making, use of atlatl, games and other lifestyle artifacts. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 4. Darius Puff of Pennsylvania will explain and demonstrate artifacts of Native American-European contact artifacts. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 5. Rich Cunningham - Soapstone carving collection, as well as hands-on demonstrations.
- 6. Nadine Bergeron - "Beautiful Shining Woman" and "The Frog Lady" will do storytelling by developing a drum circle. Chuck Thunderwolf will accompany on guitar. 12-3 p.m.
- 7. Janet Hochella, "Turtle Lady," will share her knowledge of the turtle, symbol of Mother Earth, in Native American culture. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 8. Ruth Pye will demonstrate and involve participation of Native American games. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 9. Roland Mellinger and the Pennsylvania Cane Club will demonstrate the art of wood carving into canes and snow-snakes. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 10. Linda Jarsocrak - Western Cherokee - will provide turquoise and other beeds for the creation of Native American replica jewelry. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 11. Denise Stanwicz - Red Lake Chippewa - will perform a "Jingle Dress Dance" and other traditional dances. Jay Rob Boyd-Millelac Chippewa will accompany on drum. 7-8 p.m.
- 12. Shenandoah Dances - Iroquois social dance - 6-7 p.m.
- 13. Nadine Bergeron - Chuck Thunderwolf - Earth Vision Weavers - will do a musical presentation. 8-8:30 p.m.
- 14. Terry Strongheart - Liz Mallin and their group "One Tribe" will present a concert of Native American music. Terry Strongheart is of Cherokee background and is a songwriter and guitarist. His group is well known for outstanding musical presentations. Liz Mallin is an accomplished violinist and an excellent musician in her own right. 8:30-10 p.m.
Sunday, April 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
